Campaign description
‘Godna’ is more than a tattoo—it is identity, memory, and a deep connection to land, ancestors, and community among Adivasi groups like the Gond, Baiga, Ojha and Others. It continues to live through everyday practices, even as stigma and changing social conditions push it to the margins.
This campaign is not about revival, but about recognizing continuity and supporting community-led resurgence. We work with traditional practitioners to honor their knowledge, amplify their voices, and create space for younger generations to engage with godna on their own terms.
As part of this effort, we are also reimagining godna in contemporary forms—creating T-shirts and mugs, and collaborating with Adivasi and Dalit artisan communities who weave handcrafted cloth. These textiles become canvases where godna is carefully painted, bringing together different marginalized knowledge systems through ethical, community-led collaboration.
By standing with godna, we affirm that it is not a relic of the past, but a living, evolving practice rooted in dignity, creativity, and cultural sovereignty.
